ARTWORKS Fellows 2018, Eirini Vianelli and Giorgos Nikopoulos, participate in the Stop Motion Animation group show titled ΚΙΝΕΙΤΑΙ, which takes place in the art space Mandragoras 32B.
The exhibition attempts to propose a different narrative based on the visitor's contact with the creative environment beyond the screen. With the physical presence of settings and objects, animation puppets, character masks, and backstage printed material, the animation process comes alive. Through the artists' workshop, the audience has the chance to explore the course of storytelling structure getting access to a coded language that remains open to the subjective viewpoint and the viewer's participation.
The exhibition is interested in highlight the visual aspect of the stop motion movies so that the visitor can come in contact with the materials and the ways the creators present them, surpassing the boundary of the image without context and increasing the aesthetic understanding and emotion.
