About eligibility

I receive funds from another grant, award, scholarship or fellowship program. Can I apply for the SNF Artist Program?

If your gross annual income does not exceed the amount of 12.000€ you can apply for the Program.

I live in Greece but I graduated high school from a foreign country. Can I apply for the SNF Artist Fellowship Program?

Yes, you can apply as long as you have a Greek identity card or passport.

I am enrolled in a postgraduate degree program in Greece. Can I apply for the SNF Artist Fellowship Program?

Unfortunately, for the pilot program we will not accept applications from postgraduate students in Greece or abroad.

I am enrolled in a PhD program abroad. Can I apply for the SNF Artist Fellowship Program?

You can apply as long as you live and work in Greece.

How can I prove my artistic skills and experience?

Please refer to your participation in exhibitions, festivals, contests, publications, artist residency programs and other achievements you have accomplished as an artist.

If I don’t get accepted at the pilot program, can I apply again?

You are encouraged to re-apply for the second cycle of the program. The dates will be announced upon completion of the pilot program.

About the application

I submitted my application successfully but I haven’t received a confirmation e-mail. What should I do?

Please make sure you entered the correct e-mail when you submitted the application and also check your spam. If you still haven’t received a confirmation e-mail, allow 24 hours from submission before contacting us at Remember to contact us within the deadline on January 26, 2018 otherwise we will not be able to process your application.

Can I submit the supporting documentation by post?

All material supporting your application must be submitted online only.

Can I include incomplete works as part of my portfolio?

Of course, if you think it could strengthen your application.

What do you mean by the term ‘artist statement’?

It is a personal statement that describes your practice, your aspirations and your specific interests in the arts.

When will I be notified if I get accepted at the SNF Artist Fellowship Program?

All participants will be notified via e-mail by March 15 2018.

About the Program

What should I do if I get accepted to the Program?

Following the announcement of the participants, you will sign an official agreement with ARTWORKS within 15 days, that sets out all the terms and conditions of the award. Your participation at the SNF Artist Fellowship Program includes participation in workshops, seminars, artists talks and other events for skill-sharing that ARTWORKS staff will organize to help you further develop your career as an artist.

How often will the seminars and workshops take place and when will you announce the schedule?

The seminars and workshops will be held in Athens between April and June 2018. The exact dates will be announced at the end of March 2018, shortly after the pilot program kicks-off.

Should I get accepted to the Program, will I be required to attend all the events that ARTWORKS will organize within the six-month period of the program?

Attendance is not mandatory. However, we strongly encourage you to participate.

Is my presence required daily at ARTWORKS?

No, the SNF Artist Fellowship Program does not require your daily presence.

Do you cover travel expenses for those who don’t live in Athens and wish to attend the professional development workshops?

ARTWORKS doesn’t provide any additional funds apart from the monetary prize.

Can I access the seminars and workshops online?

Unfortunately, we do not offer online seminars and workshops.

What happens if I don’t have a finished piece within the six-month period of the Program?

Even if you don't have a finished piece to present at the end of the Program, you will be required to present your work-in-progress and describe how the award helped you to further develop your work.
